Set up your NowGo driver app

Everything you need to know to set up your device, manage your shift, and complete deliveries with ease.

Updated this week

The NowGo driver app is designed to take the friction out of your day. By bringing together your route information, navigation, and proof of delivery into one simple interface, we help you focus on getting goods to customers safely and efficiently.

Getting started: Less friction, more flow

Before you hit the road, ensure your device is configured correctly to stay in sync with the dashboard.

  • Download and log in: Download the NowGo app for iOS or Android onto your smartphone or handheld scanner. Log in using the unique credentials provided by your dispatcher. See the NowGo mobile app article.

  • Enable location permissions: You must set your device's Location Permissions to 'Allow at All Times'. This ensures GPS points are continually sent back to the dashboard so your dispatcher knows you are safe and on track. See the mobile app troubleshooting article.

  • Receive your shift: When a plan is dispatched, you will receive a notification on your device. Open the app to view your defined work period, including your start and end times. See the stops section article.

  • Navigate your way: View your stops for the day and choose your preferred navigation app to get turn-by-turn directions to each location. See the navigating to a stop article.

Managing your run: Stay in control

Road conditions change, and the NowGo app is flexible enough to change with you.

  • Understand your tasks: Each shift consists of jobs which are sets of one or more stops performed in sequence, such as picking up an item from a warehouse and delivering it to a customer. See the completing a stop article.

  • Re-sequence on the go: If you encounter local traffic or road closures, you can re-order your stops mid-run to keep your day on track. See the sequencing stops article, and the sequencing behaviour article.

  • Capture proof of delivery (POD): Record delivery outcomes instantly within the app. You can capture digital signatures, take photos of the delivered goods, and record exactly where and when the action was completed. See the delivering a consignment article, and the unsuccessful delivery article.

  • Follow special instructions: Check the app for any specific notes from the customer or dispatcher, such as "Gate 4" or "Leave at front door". See the messages article.

Why NowGo works

NowGo is built to support drivers by automating the tedious parts of the job.

  • Real-time synchronisation: Because the app updates in real-time, your dispatcher sees your progress (for example, "2 of 4 stops completed") automatically. This means fewer "Where are you?" phone calls. You can also chat directly to your dispatcher from the chat function within the app.

  • Offline capability: Even if you go out of mobile service, your app keeps working. And when you get back into range, everything updates automatically to keep you moving.

  • Vehicle awareness: Your shift may be linked to a specific vehicle type, such as a van or a crane truck, to ensure you only receive jobs that your vehicle can actually carry.

  • Simplified troubleshooting: If a job requires a specific attribute, like a tail-lift, the system ensures it is matched to your vehicle before you even start your shift. You can also get straight to the driver knowledge base from the app for additional help, when you need it.
